Possible online services disruption due to Internet related outage

A worldwide technology outage is causing disruption to some State of Illinois online systems.  We are aware of this issue and are diligently working on restoration.

Population & Statistics of Deaf and Hard of Hearing

The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States including the demographics of Deaf and Hard of Hearing residents. The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), compiles statistical information to help guide policies to improve the health of Americans. NCHS provides the percentage estimate of all hearing loss types in the United States. The Annual Disability Status Report for Illinois is based on the data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey (ACS) which is a yearly survey that collects data for various demographic subpopulations including Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Sources and citations are provided on the bottom.
