The Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission (IDHHC) is an executive state agency that promotes education and awareness of the legal requirements for effective communication on behalf of people with hearing loss in Illinois. The Commission also advocates to improve communication access to all state programs and services of Deaf and Hard of Hearing persons.

Illinois Board of Interpreters
The Illinois Board of Interpreters, as established by the statute and within the Commission, provides recommendations to the Director on issues related to the Interpreter for the Deaf Licensure Act of 2007. Visit Illinois Board of Interpreters to meet the Board members.
