TRANSCRIPT: Greetings to everyone. This is Benro T. Ogunyipe, Director of the Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission. I am pleased to announce that we have the new five-year strategic plan and priorities now in effective from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2029. The strategic plan and priorities guide our agency to act in conducting and maintaining goals and priorities for five years in accordance with the statutory mandates and based on the survey input from more than 120 stakeholders and communities.

I want to take this opportunity to thank diverse stakeholders and communities especially deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind communities as well as rural and sign language interpreters communities for their feedback incorporated in the new strategic plan and priorities.
