William Lee Joins IDHHC Team as Executive I - Interpreter Coordinator
The Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission is pleased to announce the hiring of William Lee as Executive I - Interpreter Coordinator.
William Lee has been a sign language interpreter for more than 30 years. He possesses an IL Sign Language Interpreter for the Deaf License, Master Proficiency Level and both the RID National Interpreter Certification (NIC) and IL BEI Master Certification. Over the years, Will has worked as a freelance interpreter in the community, as a staff interpreter and video relay interpreter. He has provided interpreting services in a variety of settings including education, medical, business, nonprofit, theatrical, and mental health environments.
Will has served on the Illinois Board of Interpreters and Illinois Registry of Interpreter for the Deaf (IRID) boards, and even taught interpreting. Additionally, Will has a degree in computer programming and enjoys developing websites. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his spouse, children and spoiling his grandchildren.
William will start in the role on June 17, 2024.
